The main aim of this project was to develop a response strategy to ensure compliance with the legal provisions and the targets set for urban waste management, contributing to the objectives set within the scope of promoting the circular economy and creating green jobs.
Specifically, this study aimed to develop an analysis of the technical and economic feasibility of implementing a management system for bio-waste in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, determining the geographical and technological potential of applying collection and recovery solutions with a view to progressive implementation and recovery of the resulting products, such as organic compost.
