The purpose of this work was to support the development of a corporate circular economy strategy as well as the identification of individual action plans for the following business units of the EDP group: Commercial, Generation – Conventional Thermal and Hydro, Generation – Renewable, Distribution, and Support.
3drivers’ support was materialized through the following actions:
Support the design of the corporate strategy and action plans for the Circular Economy of the business units of the EDP group, in order to work on the company’s integrated vision about the topic.
Based on the workshop held, it was possible to define a set of initiatives considered as potential quick wins.
In line with Haines-Gadd and Charnley (2019) and Bocken et al. (2013), the qualitative information obtained in the workshop was subjected to content analysis, allowing for the identification of gaps, recommendations, and value creation. As a result, it was possible to identify the main research axes and assign them a set of recommendations. These recommendations could then serve as the company’s general circularity and sustainability solutions moving forward.
Design Thinking methodology
The work carried out generated impact in terms of leveraging the corporate culture of sustainability in the EDP group, supporting the potential for strengthening the training about the circular economy of its employees, as well as facilitating the design of action plans for greater proactivity in this area.
