FoodLoop was a competition that searched for ideas and projects that would contribute towards changing the food system in the city of Porto, making better use of food, and promoting an economy with less food waste, less waste, more sustainable and healthier.

3drivers was responsible for ensuring:

• The development of the competition concept and program
• The development and implementation of the initiative’s communication strategy, including the creation of content for the online portal
• The management of applications and support for the evaluation process
• The promotion of the initiative at forums and events

The success of this initiative made it possible to select the 5 best ideas/projects that proved to be capable of boosting the transition to a more circular economy in the Municipality of Porto, having been given access to 6 months of specific mentoring to support their development.

This project was part of CityLoops – Closing the loop for urban material flows, a European project led by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, in which the Municipality of Porto’s main theme was organic waste, including its prevention and the promotion of selective collection.
